Everyone who uses a vehicle on the road is required to keep it in a roadworthy condition. This is done using a test called the MOT TEST. In the interests of road safety this test is used to look at some important features of your car and to make sure that all those important bits meet the legal requirements.
For obvious reasons new cars are exempt but once your spanking new car is 3 years old you will need to be tested like the rest of us...unless you are a taxi in which case things are a bit different.

CAR-FIX has a dedicated MOT TESTING BAY where we carry out all our MOTs.
All our testers have been on a training course with VOSA and they are tested regularly.
VOSA (The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) is the government agency that supervises the MOT scheme and it does this by :
- authorising stations & by approving that stations nominated testers
- setting the standards for testing and requirements for authorisation for the TEST station
- training authorised examiners & MOT testers
- regular competence checks of testers and the maintenance of equipment
The MOT TEST is now computerised. This means you will usually have to make an appointment so the timeslot can be booked in for you.
IMPORTANT :
Being a computerised system also enables law enforcement to automatically cross reference your registration plate with the relevant database to see if you have a valid certificate using their in car ANPR cameras.
